Relevant Information: This alloy has been fully developed using ThermoCalc simulations. Chemical composition, sintering temperature, heating and cooling rates as well as atmosphere mix was fully simulated before making the first sample. After first samples the simulation was calibrated and the final recipe was decided.
Two main recipes were developed:

  • One for high strength applications where weight reduction and material savings is important
  • Another one for very high corrosion resistance

Finishing Process: By controlling the porosities during compaction it was possible to secure a homogeneous microstructure through the entire component.

Chemical Composition: Duplex grade with 25% Cr, 7% Ni, 3,9% Mo and 0,3% N
